Catherine Turnbull worked as a staff journalist in the UK regional press in England and Scotland for more than 20 years. Roles included news reporter, feature writer, food columnist, magazine editor, news editor, sub editor and newspaper editor. Her last newspaper, Okney Today, won the Highlands and Islands newspaper of the year title. Now a freelance writer and sub editor, Catherine's special interests are: travel, heritage, culture and the arts, literature, food and food history. Her articles have appeared in many UK national newspapers and magazines. She also writes academic papers for a Master of Letters in Orkney and Shetland Studies, for which she is studying part time.
